Our 5 Favorite Songs of 2020

Updated: Feb 15, 2021

Music is always there. When all is dark, it’s the voice guiding us to the light. When the world gets too loud, too chaotic, music is the soft melody rising above the dim. From strangers joining in song to impromptu contests with famous rock stars, 2020 has been full of reminders that music is powerful -- and music is here to stay.

As we continue to reflect on this past year and look ahead to 2021, here are five songs we loved in 2020.

SPCMN feat. Lo - "party of one"

The deft finesse and flourishes of SPCMN’s products make the perfect foil for LO. Together, the talented song maker and magnificent singer have created one of 2020s most stunning songs.

Larry Gee - "Borrowed Time"

Buoyed by a fun video, the always impressive Larry Gee released a resonant bop that helped remind us we’re not alone.

Peyton Stilling - "Healing"

Peyton’s voice alone makes any song she releases worth a listen. With “Healing,” she’s crafted a mesmerizing tune that fits any mood -- and stays stuck in your head.

Carley Bearden feat. Taka$ - "Something Like This"

This is the kind of song you want to put on for a long nighttime drive. Carley’s potent lyrics and mellifluous voice have once again created a peaceful, must-hear track that will have you spreading good vibes into 2021.

Natalie Schlabs - "Don’t Look Too Close"

Nashville’s Natalie Schlabs spent 2020 fine-tuning her latest album, Don’t Look Too Close. The eponymous track is the perfect showcase for her rich and twangy voice: a voice that combines Soccer Mommy with Kacey Musgraves.
