Dallas-based pop/electronica singer, songwriter and performer jACQ is set to release her debut EP “Cosmic Affair,” on Friday, June 30. Featuring her distinct voice, captivating lyrics and artistic versatility shine through on its five tracks. With music featured on Billboard’s Top 20, Spotify’s Top 50, BBC Radio 1 and Beatport as #1, jACQ is finally focusing on her solo career.

With the release of the debut EP and after working with industry legends like Bobby Z, Tony Williams, Frankie J and Gene Evaro, the artist is looking to step into the spotlight. jACQ recently released her debut single “This Is The Time” on Friday, April 28.

“It’s about finally letting go onstage. 'This Is The Time'(single) is an invitation to join in on my musical adventure.” - jACQ

A born performer, Jacqueline Jaquez AKA jACQ, who grew up in Minnesota with a musical family, has been singing since age four.

Her father, a guitarist and singer, encouraged her to explore her musical passion. After wowing baseball fans with her rendition of the national anthem during the World Series at age seven, the star-in-the-making released her first album at age 10. Bobby Z (Prince and The Revolution/Boy George) showed an early interest and by high school jACQ was gigging in bands and doing professional studio work.

jACQ has shared the stage with internationally-touring artists such as Shiny Toy Guns, Krewella, Pretty Lights, Steve Angelo and Passion Pit. Her strong voice and passionate lyrics have enabled her to release with major labels like Sony, Ultra and Armada Music and landed her guest singing spots on top pop, electronic, hip-hop, rock and dance hits. jACQ’s music has also been placed in films by BBC Films and Magnolia Films and on TV shows for ABC, HBO and MTV. Her music is inspired by artists spanning a wide range of genres, including ODESZA, ABBA, Phantogram, Linda Ronstadt and Prince.

"Cosmic Affair" is about two things: my undying love affair with music and my personal growth,” said jACQ about her debut release.

“This album inspired me to tap into raw expression, diving headfirst into music that’s dramatic, cinematic and fun. I went back to the music that made me fall in love with the art of creating in the first place.”

Montreal-based producer June Nawakii also served as engineer on “Cosmic Affair” and handled all of the instrumentation on the EP and handled drum programming, composing, mixing and mastering. A majority of the tracks were recorded by jACQ herself, with help from Justin Villareal, across four Deep Ellum-based studios, Track It Audio, Rock It Lab, Left/Right Pro Audio and Audia Creatives.

“I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with some of my favorite musicians, producers and artists over the last few years,” said jACQ. “As a result, I think this EP shows my versatility as an artist. I’m excited to share it with the world.”

A departure from the collaborative singles and EDM/dance tracks of her past, “Cosmic Affair” was jACQ’s opportunity to take the reins and free herself as an artist. Self-expressive and outside of the confines of her past releases, the EP explores a variety of tempos and presents a new hybrid of- more -jACQ / Page Twopop-electronica.

Cosmic soundscapes weave in and out of jACQ’s new tracks as she experiments with a depth of harmonic layers. It breaks the rules in all the right ways and defies genre expectations.

Cosmic Affair will be available wherever music is sold. Including, www.jacqsings.com, iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, Google Play, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Digital, Tidal, Bandcamp and many more.
